Rover 216 GTi
1990 Rover 216 GTi in British Racing Green. The body work has seen better days having had a few crap efforts to repair rust holes and liberal use of overspray in the process. Other teams had better watch out as it has alloy wheels and the engine has also been 'modified' with some British Racing Green spray paint giving it the sporty edge it will need.

Any mechanics out there willing to donate some of their time to help us get this beast ready for the trip? Please email us staples2naples@yahoo.com
The Engine

The Honda 1.6ltr 16 valve fuel injected DOHC engine is quite pokey but is also a little smokey. Hopefully this is nothing to worry about but we will be keeping an eye on it and might even get around to doing something about it before we set off, time will tell. Having already done 153000 miles i'm sure 2000 more isn't asking too much???
Other bits

Disc brakes all round, which is a bonus for those Swiss Mountain Passes, and the clutch feels pretty good too. Unfortunately the brakes are grinding when applied so this will need to be sorted out before we set off, not taking any chances. hopefully a quick service and some new brake pads should sort it.
There is a whopping great hole in the dashboard where the stereo used to be. This is a priority fix!!! There's no way we can set of without some hard rocking theme music for our quest.
